4-1-17 Traffic Crash/Fatality - 4757 Hwy 58

At 7:35 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017, Chattanooga Police Traffic Division responded to a vehicle crash at 4757 Hwy 58. The following are the preliminary facts of the incident:

• Vehicle #1, a Suzuki motorcycle, was traveling south on Hwy 58, in the middle lane
• Vehicle #2, a Chevy sedan, was traveling north on Hwy 58 and attempting to make a left turn in the First Volunteer Bank
• Vehicle #2 turned in front of Vehicle #1, causing a T-bone style collision
• HCEMS advised the driver of Vehicle #1 had succumbed to injuries on scene
• The passenger of Vehicle #2 had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to a local hospital in critical but stable condition
• The driver of Vehicle #2 was transported by family members to Erlanger for evaluation
• Members of the CPD Traffic Division are investigating the crash and following all leads
