5-18-17 Shots Fired/Barricaded Subject - 4300 block Arbor Lane


At 1:40 p.m., May 18, 2017, Chattanooga Police responded to a disorder call at 4300 Arbor Lane. The following are the preliminary facts of that incident:

  • Chattanooga Police officers were initially dispatched to a disorder call, upon arrival they heard shots fired from inside the residence
  • The victim left the residence unharmed and informed police that the suspect was inside with a gun
  • The suspect refused to leave the residence upon request by police
  • Officers with the Hostage Negotiation Team attempted to communicate with the suspect
  • SWAT officers utilized a camera to assess the situation inside the residence
  • The suspect voluntarily disarmed himself and officers were able to safely enter the home to remove the suspect
  • The suspect was taken to a local hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound
  • It appears at this time the suspect may have shot himself at some point during the disorder
  • Due to the domestic nature of this incident, the victim will not be identified

Buster Verdin Garrison
DOB: 2-7-33

Charges: Aggravated Assault (Domestic)

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
