8-24-18 Traffic Crash/Fatality 5520 Hixson Pike-

• Pontiac (Vehicle #1) was traveling south in the 5500 block of Hixson Pike
• Witnesses stated to police the driver of Vehicle #1 was driving erratically and veered into an oncoming traffic lane
• Vehicle #1 struck a motorcycle (Vehicle #2) traveling north on Hixson Pike
• Upon impact, driver of Vehicle #2 was thrown from the motorcycle
• Driver of Vehicle #2 was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries
• During the investigation, driver of Vehicle #1 exhibited signs of impairment
• Driver of Vehicle #1 was transported to the Hamilton County Jail where a blood draw was conducted
• Driver of Vehicle #1 is charged with multiple counts
• Members of the Chattanooga Police Traffic Division are actively investigating the crash
