11-6-18 UPDATE/10-30-18 Traffic Crash/Critical Injury - 1800 Concord Rd.

On October 30, 2018 at approximately 5:00 p.m. a critical injury crash occurred at 1800 Concord Road. The Chattanooga Police Department's Traffic Unit responded to the scene. The following was determined through interview, investigation and observation:

• Vehicle #1 (Honda motorcycle) was traveling north on Concord Rd.
• Vehicle #2 (Cadillac) was attempting to make a left turn onto Concord Rd. from Igou Gap Rd.
• Driver of Vehicle #2 stated to police that she stopped at the stop sign & looked both ways before proceeding into the intersection.
• Driver of Vehicle #2 also stated she did not see any traffic coming until she was in the intersection
• Vehicle #1 struck the rear of Vehicle #2
• A witness in a vehicle not directly involved in the crash corroborated the statements made by driver of Vehicle #2
• Driver of Vehicle #1 was transported to a local hospital via Hamilton County EMS with critical injuries

Male, 25 years old

Judy Garvin (female, 59)

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
