10-31-18 Arrest made after drug overdose death

On August 13, 2018 at approximately 11:30 p.m., CPD Officers were dispatched to a drug overdose call at a residence in the 2400 block of Williams St. When they arrived on scene, officers located Ms. Shope deceased. The Hamilton County Medical Examiner later determined Ms. Shope died of an opioid overdose.

After a thorough investigation, the CPD Narcotics Unit determined Kedrick D. Bush was both the supplier of the narcotics and on scene at the time of Ms. Shope's death. Bush is charged with Second Degree Murder and other charges are pending.

Kedrick Bush is currently in custody at the Franklin County Jail. He will be extradited to Chattanooga.

Second Degree Murder
