2-11-19 UPDATE: Suspect Named/1-17-19 Homicide - 5800 block Moody Sawyer Rd.


The Chattanooga Police Department is asking for the community's assistance in locating the suspect. If you have any information about the homicide or Kameron Leslie's whereabouts, please call the Chattanooga Police Department Homicide Tip Line at (423) 643-5100 or submit a tip using the free Chattanooga PD smartphone app. Anyone providing a tip can remain anonymous.

Kameron Leslie (male, 30)

DOB: 03/10/1988

CHARGE:

First Degree Murder

On January 11, 2019 at approximately 11:52 a.m. Chattanooga Police responded to a CPR in progress call at a residence in the 5800 block of Moody Sawyer Road. The following are the preliminary facts of that incident:

 

  • Upon arrival, Police located the victim who was unresponsive
  • Hamilton County EMS pronounced the victim deceased at the scene
  • Police secured the area and called for the CPD Violent Crimes Bureau to respond
  • The manner of the death was not immediately clear during the course of the preliminary investigation
  • On January 17, 2019 the manner of death was ruled a Homicide. That determination was made based on the CPD's investigation and discussion with the Hamilton County Medical Examiner.

Taja Whiteside (Female, 30)

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-643-5100 or submit an anonymous tip via the Chattanooga PD Mobile App. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
