7-6-19 Arrests / Homicide - 1400 block East 49th Street


 

  • Upon arrival officers located a deceased juvenile male, secured the scene, and called for the CPD Violent Crimes Bureau to respond.
  • Responding officers were able to locate and stop the suspect vehicle and detain all parties in the vehicle.
  • Investigators were able to determine that the suspects arrived in a stolen vehicle and opened fire on the house which contained 5 people; killing juvenile victim 1 and injuring victim 2 as well.
  • Suspect 1 is charged with criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide (x5), and auto theft.
  • Suspect 2 is charged with criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide (x5), and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
  • Both suspects were transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.

(Male, 19)

Suspect 1 (In Custody):

(Juvenile Male, 15)

Charges:

Criminal Homicide, Attempted Criminal Homicide (x5), & Auto Theft.

Suspect 2 (In Custody):

(Juvenile Male, 14)

Charges:

Criminal Homicide, Attempted Criminal Homicide (x5), & Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call the homicide tip line at 423-643-5150 or submit a tip via the CPD Mobile App. You can remain anonymous.

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
