7-16-19 ARREST/7-15-19 Shooting - 2600 block Reece Alley


Suspect (In-Custody):

Dewayne Oneal Lawery (Male, 18)

Charges:

Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony

On July 15, 2019 at approximately 3:29 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to the 2600 block of Reece Alley on a report of a person shot.

 

  • Upon arrival, police located the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
  • Hamilton County EMS responded and transported the victim to a local hospital.
  • Officers secured the scene and called for the CPD Violent Crimes Bureau to respond.
  • Investigators were able to identify the suspect as Dewayne Oneal Lawery.
  • Warrants have been obtained for attempted murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
