9-18-19 ARREST/8-28-19 WANTED Suspect Identified/8-26-19 Homicide / Shooting - 7600 block Standifer Gap Road


Updated Information (8-28-19): The Chattanooga Police Department has identified Jemichael Powell as the suspect wanted in connection to the August 26, 2019 homicide / shooting of Quintasia Tate that occurred in the 7600 block of Standifer Gap Road. Powell has been added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Most Wanted List. He is charged with Criminal Homicide and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

Suspect (Warrants):

Jemichael Powell (Male, 04/16/1992)

Charges: Criminal Homicide and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

On August 26, 2019 at approximately 12:53 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a shots fired call in the 7600 block of Standifer Gap Road.

 

  • Upon arrival, Police located the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
  • Hamilton County EMS responded and transported the victim to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
  • Officers secured the scene and called for the CPD Violent Crimes Unit to respond.
  • The investigation is active and ongoing.
  • More information will be released when available.
