9-16-19 UPDATE/9-12-19 - Serious Injury Traffic Crash - 4600 Shallowford Road

On September 12, 2019 at approximately 7:54 a.m., Chattanooga Police were notified of a traffic crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle at 4600 Shallowford Road. The CPD Traffic Unit responded to the scene. The following information was obtained through interview, observation, and investigation:

• Vehicle #1 (Honda CBR 600 motorcycle) was traveling eastbound on Shallowford Rd. in the left lane when it struck the rear of the vehicle (Vehicle #2 - Toyota Highlander) ahead of it.
• During the collision the motorcyclist separated from Vehicle #1.
• The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS.
• Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525 or submit a tip via the CPD Mobile App. You can remain anonymous.

Name withheld pending next of kin notification

Male, 35

Driver #2:

Name withheld juvenile

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
