10-31-19 Officer Involved Traffic Crash - 1400 Highway 27 South

• Vehicle 2 was involved in a separate single vehicle rollover crash and came to rest in the south bound lanes on Highway 27.
• The crash happened near the Soddy-Daisy / Chattanooga line on Highway 27.
• Soddy-Daisy Police were responding to that wreck and were attempting to locate Vehicle 2.
• Due to the heavy rain and fog, and no street lights on Highway 27 in that area, the Soddy-Daisy officer was unable to see Vehicle 2 as he approached the prior crash and did hit Vehicle 2.
• The driver of Vehicle 2 had exited the vehicle and was not inside when it was struck.
• Driver of Vehicle 2 did not sustain injuries from either crash.
• The Soddy-Daisy Police Officer was transported by Hamilton County EMS to a local hospital.
• Chief Gann of Soddy-Daisy Police Department advised the officer was transported with non life threatening injuries.
