12-12-19 UPDATE: ARREST / 12-8-19 Homicide / Shooting - 2300 Wilson Street


During the preliminary investigation, Chattanooga Police Department Officers gathered information and evidence that helped identify the suspect. Based on the information received and a thorough investigation by CPD Homicide Unit Detectives, 26-year-old Mark Caslin was identified as a suspect in the two homicides and non-fatal shooting that occurred on December 8, 2019 at 2300 Wilson Street. Caslin is charged with two counts of Criminal Homicide and one count of Attempted Homicide.

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.

On December 8, 2019 at approximately 9:08 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a report of Unknown Trouble at 2300 Wilson Street. Upon arrival, police were flagged down about a person shot. The following are the preliminary facts of the investigation:

 

  • Police located three victims with gunshot wounds, two deceased (victims 1 and 2) and one suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds (victim 3).
  • Hamilton County EMS transported Victim 3 to a local hospital.
  • Officers located a crime scene inside an apartment unit.
  • At this time, a motive for the shooting has not been determined.
  • The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
