8-19-20 UPDATE #2: Suspect in custody / 8-19-20 UPDATE: Seeking public's assistance in locating homicide suspect 8-17-20 Homicide - 4800 block 15th Avenue

Acting on a tip that was called in to police, the CPD Fugitive Unit, CPD Gun Team, Hamilton County Fugitive Unit, U.S. Marshals, and ATF apprehended McDaniel at a residence in the 2700 block of Dodson Avenue. McDaniel is being held at the Hamilton County Jail.

SUSPECT: Brandon D. McDaniel

UPDATE (8-19-20): The Chattanooga Police Department Homicide and Fugitive Units are asking for community assistance with locating a suspect involved in a homicide that occurred at a residence in the 4800 block of 15th Avenue on August 17, 2020. The suspect has been identified as Brandon Deonte McDaniel. McDaniel's photo and description are included below.

• Black Male
• 21 years old
• 5'08" in height
• 170 lbs.
• Brown eyes
• Black hair

On August 17, 2020 at approximately 8:13 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a person shot call in the 4800 block of 15th Avenue. The following are the preliminary facts of the investigation:

• Upon arrival, police located the victim suffering from a single gunshot wound.
• Victim was taken to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS where he succumbed to his injuries.
• Homicide investigators and crime scene specialists responded to process the residence
• It was stated to investigators that prior to the shooting an adult male entered the residence threatening violence then exited the home. Soon after, a suspect shot into the home, striking the victim.
• Incident appears to be isolated to those involved.
• Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call the homicide tip line at 423-643-5100 or submit a tip via the CPD Mobile App. You can remain anonymous.

Donald Troutwine (Male, 25)
