8-18-20 Traffic Fatality - 5300 Highway 153

• Vehicle #1 (Kawasaki motorcycle) was traveling north on Hwy 153 entering the intersection at Northgate Mall Dr. as the traffic light was changing from green to red.
• Vehicle #2 (Kia Forte) was facing southbound attempting to turn left into a parking lot once the northbound light turned red.
• Southbound traffic is not governed by the traffic light at that intersection.
• Vehicle #1 struck Vehicle #2 in the intersection.
• Driver of Vehicle #1 was taken to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS with life-threatening injuries.
• Hamilton County Medical Examiner notified CPD that the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries on August 16, 2020.
• The investigation is ongoing and will continue in a logical manner.
