4-4-21 Traffic Fatality - 9301 Lee Highway

• Vehicle #1 (Chevy Avalanche) was on Lee Hwy south waiting to turn left onto Ooltewah Ringgold Rd.
• Vehicle #2 (Harley Davidson) was traveling north on Lee Hwy in the right lane passing heavy traffic. 
• Driver of Vehicle #1 made a left turn as Vehicle #2 entered the intersection causing Vehicle #2 to strike Vehicle #1 and ejecting the rider (motorcyclist). 
• After impact, Vehicle #1 struck Vehicle #3 (Toyota Rav 4). 
• Rider of Vehicle #2 was taken to a hospital via Hamilton County EMS with critical, life-threatening injuries. 
• Passenger in Vehicle #1 was entrapped in vehcile and extricated by Tri-Comm Fire Department. 
• Driver and passenger of Vehicle #1 were also taken to a hospital by Hamilton County EMS. 
• Driver of Vehicle #3 did not report injuries on scene. 
• CPD Traffic Unit  was notified that the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries later on April 3, 2021.  
• Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525 or submit a tip via the CPD Mobile App. You can remain anonymous.
• The investigation is ongoing and will continue in a logical manner.
