8-17-21 Traffic Fatality- 2300 East 23rd St

• Vehicle #1 (Nissan) was travelling West in the 2300 block of East 3rd St.
• Vehicle #2 (Cadillac) was travelling East in the same block.
• As Vehicle #1 approached the intersection, it made a left turn in front of Vehicle #2 causing Vehicle #2 to strike Vehicle #1 in a near head on style collison.
• The impact caused Vehicle #2 to strike Vehicle #3 before coming to rest.
• Driver #1 was transported to the hospital by Hamilton County EMS with significant injuries. Drivers #2 and #3 were not injured.
• Driver #1 remained in the hospital and ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
• Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525 or submit a tip via the CPD Mobile App. You can remain anonymous.
• The investigation is ongoing and will continue in a logical manner.
