Update (10-30-21): Chattanooga Police have arrested a suspect in the October 25, 2021 Homicide of Alfred Pitmon that occurred in the 3200 block of 7th Avenue. Marvin Menifee is in custody and is being charged with First Degree Murder and Especially Aggravated Robbery.

On October 25, 2021 at approximately 1:34 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a residence in the 3200 block of 7th Avenue. The following are the preliminary facts of the investigation:

• Upon arrival, officers located the victim with an apparent life-threatening gunshot wound and pronounced deceased on scene. 
• Investigators with the Violent Crimes Unit responded to conduct an investigation and collect potential evidence from the scene. 
• There are no suspect details to release at this time.
