10-27-21 Shooting- Arrest- 1500 Dodson Avenue


  • Upon arrival, Officers located a juvenile male party suffering from a gunshot wound and secured the scene.
  • The shooting victim was transported to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS with a non life threatening injury.
  • The initial investigation revealed that an attempted robbery may have occurred and Robbery Investigators were notified.
  • Investigators were able to quickly locate and detain the shooting suspect.
  • Investigators learned that the shooting victim had attempted to rob the shooting suspect and both parties exchanged gunfire with the juvenile getting struck.
  • The shooting suspect declined to prosecute for Robbery but both parties were arrested for other charges.
  • Abraham Newsom, 31 (shooting suspect/robbery victim) was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Reckless Endangerment.
  • Juvenile male, 15 (robbery suspect and shooting victim) was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Reckless Endangerment.
