11-20-21 Traffic Fatality - 6800 Hwy 153
- Vehicle #1 (Hyundai Sonata) was being pursued by Georgia State Patrol from GA.
- The suspects inside Vehicle #1 fired shots at GSP and later at THP as the pursuit entered Chattanooga.
- Vehicle #1 continued North on Hwy 153 where it lost control and left the roadway just North of Boyscout Road.
- The driver of Vehicle #1 was transported to the hospital by Hamilton County EMS where he was pronounced deceased.
- A second suspect was later apprehended by CPD and HCSO Officers.
- Georgia State Patrol is the lead agency on the shooting and pursuit investigation. CPD was not involved in the pursuit and will have no charges in this case. All inquiries pertaining to that investigation should be directed to GSP.
- Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525 or submit a tip via the CPD Mobile App. You can remain anonymous.
- The investigation is ongoing and will continue in a logical manner.
