The dollar loss on the structure from this morning's 2-alarm fire at Republic Services on E. 38th Street has been estimated at $150,000. The lead fire investigator believes the cause of the fire is accidental, but what exactly sparked the blaze remains under investigation.

Chattanooga, TN -- Quick work by Chattanooga firefighters helped prevent a fire from completely destroying a South Chattanooga business early this morning. The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm at 12:17 a.m. and responded to a fire at Republic Services at 1,000 E. 38th Street with six fire companies.

On December 29, 2016 at 4:52 p.m. a call came into Hamilton County 911 for a fire in the Royal Arms Apartments at 314 McBrien Road in Chattanooga.

A call came into Hamilton County 911 at 6:42 a.m. for a fire at 105 West 45th Street, at the Southern Cellulose company. Captain John Long stated when fire companies arrived at 6:50 a.m. they discovered a fire in a trailer full of 600 pound bales of cellulose material on fire.

A call came into Hamilton County 911 today at 8:44 a.m. for a fire at PSC Metals located at 980 W. 19th Street on the Southside. Fire crews arrived on scene at 8:49 a.m. to smoke and flames visible.
