At approximately 3 pm today the Chattanooga Fire Department dispatched multiple companies to 1203 O’ Grady Drive in Lookout Valley for a smoke investigation. First arriving units found a large 2 story house involved with heavy fire and smoke. An initial interior attack was made but due to heavy fire and structural instability fire fighters were pulled outside. Fortunately there was nobody home at the time of the fire. Information is limited at this time but the house did suffer extensive damage and due to roof construction (tin roof) it made fire fighting difficult. It took 9 fire companies approximately 45 minutes to get the fire under control. Companies on scene were, Quint 2, Engine 5, Squad 1, Ladder 1, Quint 14, Quint 1, Squad 20, Quint 3, and Quint 13. Battalion Chiefs #1 and #3 were also on scene. The fire is under investigation and no dollar loss was available at this time, there were no injuries on this fire. Chattanooga Police, HCEMS, and Hamilton County Rehab also provided assistance on this call.
