Chattanooga, Tenn. -- Chattanooga firefighters responded to a fire at the McCallie School at 500 Dodds Avenue around 8:30 Saturday night. The fire was first spotted by the school's dean of students, who happened to be out for a walk last night within eyesight of the school. The dean called 911, saying there was smoke coming from the athletic building. Upon arrival, the first firefighters on the scene with Engine 5 reported heavy smoke coming from the chemical storage building, which is attached to the athletic building.

Captain Joey Smith, the incident commander, said the storage building was full of pool chemicals, so he called for members of the hazardous materials team as a precaution. A total of nine fire companies responded to this fire. Once inside, the firefighters had the fire out within 20 minutes. No injuries were reported.
