UPDATE (5-17-21): Chattanooga Police have arrested a suspect in the shooting of a 17-year-old that occurred on May 3, 2021 in the 2700 block of Fourth Avenue. Federico Brock Jr is charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, and Aggravated Trespassing. CPD transported Brock to the Hamilton County Jail where he was booked on those charges.

On May 3, 2021 at approximately 8:28 p.m., Chattanooga Police were advised by dispatch that a party had arrived at a local hospital by private vehicle with a gunshot wound. The following are the preliminary facts of the investigation:

 

  • Upon arrival, Officers located and confirmed a male party suffering from a non life threatening gunshot wound.
  • The victim  stated that he had been shot by an unknown party in the area of East Lake Courts.. 
  • Officers were able to locate and secure a crime scene in the 2700 block of 4th Avenue.
  • Investigators with the Violent Crimes Unit responded to conduct an investigation.
  • Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525 or submit a tip via the CPD Mobile App. You can remain anonymous.

 

Victim 1:

Male, 17

 

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.

On April 29, 2021 at approximately 10:57 p.m., Chattanooga Police Traffic Division responded to a vehicle crash in the 2400 block of Bailey Ave. The following was determined through interview, observation, and investigation:

  • Vehicle #1 (Kia) was travelling East on McCallie Ave when it approached the intersection at Bailey Ave.
  • Vehicle #1 continued straight then left the roadway and dropped down a hill, where it came to rest.
  • Hamilton County EMS responded and pronounced the passenger of Vehicle #1 deceased on scene.
  • The driver of Vehicle #1, Christopher Patterson (32) has been arrested and is currently in custody. He is charged with DUI and Vehicular Homicide by Intoxication
  • Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525 or submit a tip via the CPD Mobile App. You can remain anonymous.
  • The investigation is ongoing and will continue in a logical manner.
