On June 12, 2020 at approximately 1:21 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting call at 402 W 40th Street. The following are the preliminary facts of the investigation:

UPDATE (6-26-20): On June 26, 2020, Chattanooga Police were notified that the suspect in the June 9, 2020, homicide of Tederick Walker is now in custody. Nathaniel Dave (26) was arrested in Indianapolis, Indiana with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals - Great Lakes and Smokey Mountain Task Forces, Indianapolis Police Department, and CPD Fugitive Unit.

Arrangements will be made to extradite Dave to Hamilton County.

On June 9, 2020 at approximately 11:23 p.m., Chattanooga Police were dispatched on a report of a person shot in the 4900 block of Jeffrey Lane. The following are the preliminary facts of the investigation:

Police located a party suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and secured the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS with a life threatening injury. He later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators with the Violent Crimes Bureau responded to conduct an investigation.

On June 6, 2020 at approximately 5:09 p.m., Chattanooga Police were dispatched on a report of a person shot at 2500 2nd Ave. The following are the preliminary facts of the investigation:

(Chattanooga, TN) - Chattanooga Police Chief David Roddy implements update to the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) policy regarding Duty to Intervene and highlights existing policy as it relates to Institute Warning before Shooting. These actions are intended to make clear to CPD officers and to the community the department serves that police shall intervene when they see another officer committing an unlawful or improper act. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.
