Chattanooga, TN - The Chattanooga Police Department is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) to increase impaired-driving enforcement from August 16 - September 2, 2019 surrounding the Labor Day holiday. This initiative coincides with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" mobilization to increase impaired-driving enforcement nationwide.

With school starting today for many in Chattanooga streets are becoming increasingly congested with vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians. The Chattanooga Police Department is reminding drivers, bicyclists, and walkers to exercise caution especially during student drop-off and pick-up times. Drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians should abide traffic laws and follow common sense safety guidelines year round, but especially during the school year when pedestrian traffic increases.
