A call came into Hamilton County 911 around 3:30 this morning for a house on fire at 4023 Hollar Trail off 41st Street in East Lake. Fire companies arrived on the scene with flames through the roof. A 63-year-old male perished in the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The name of the victim is not available at this time. Hamilton County EMS, EPB, and the Chattanooga Police Department were also on scene to assist.

Just after 4 AM today, the Chattanooga Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire on Park Avenue. First arriving crews reported visible flames coming from the single-story brick structure. Fire crews made a direct attack on the fire. No injuries were reported, the cause is still under investigation. Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services, Hamilton County Rehab, Electric Power Board, And Chattanooga Police Department were on scene to assist.

The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a garage on fire at 4023 Highwood Drive at 9:40 PM. The first arriving unit reported smoke and flames coming from an enclosed garage. All occupants were outside the house. Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and extinguished the flames in about 10 minutes. The fire was contained to the garage with some smoke in the house. The smoke was removed and the house was checked for air quality. The homeowner had been grinding metal in the garage and the sparks started the fire. The amount of damage was undetermined at the time and there were no injuries. Q19, S19, Q16, E11, Q10, and B3 responded.

At 3:51 PM Thursday, the Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 1310 Highland Road. It took 14 fire companies about one and a half hours to get the fire under control.

Initial crews went into rescue mode because of reports of entrapment of residents by the dispatch. There was one party that was saved by firefighters, and rushed to a local hospital to be treated for injuries sustained during the fire. Unfortunately, there was one fatality that could not be saved due to overwhelming conditions.

There were two firefighters taken to a local hospital due to injuries sustained on the scene. Both are in stable condition.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

CFD responded to a residential fire Saturday around 11:04 AM at 4120 Dorris Street.

A resident of this address called 911 and advised that her bedroom was on fire.

Quint 14 arrived and found smoke showing from the front of the house. Quint 14 made an interior attack and the fire was out in 10 minutes.

Flames were contained to the bedroom, however the rest of the house suffered some smoke and water damage. The Red Cross was called in and is assisting the four residents.

The cause of the fire was found to be accidental.
