Downtown River Parks

Coolidge Park: At Northshore's waterfront, Coolidge Park features a restored 100-year-old carousel, a pavilion, an interactive play fountain, the Outdoor Chattanooga Center and lots of open space.  It is a popular destination for concerts, festivals, fundraisers and special events.  



Coolidge Park Carousel: The 1894 Dentzel antique carousel provides a delightful old-fashioned experience with 52 hand carved animals, a calliope band organ, and ornate gold leaf benches. The carousel is also available for birthday parties and family reunions. For reservations and more information visit the Parks Reservations page

PLEASE NOTE: The Coolidge Park Carousel is now open and reservations for the party room are available. 



Walnut Street Bridge: A short walk across the Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge allows visitors to enjoy parks and amenities on both sides of the Tennessee River.  On the south side, the bridge is located between the Tennessee Aquarium and the Hunter Museum of American Art. On the north side, connects visitors to Coolidge Park, Renaissance Park and many shops, galleries, restaurants, and arts groups. 


Aquarium PlazaAquarium Plaza: This landscaped area is a part of the Tennessee Aquarium in Downtown Chattanooga.  The plaza has an interactive system of wading pools and streams, elevated walkways with native plants, great river overlooks, and historic markings.




Rennisance ParkRenaissance Park: Renaissance Park is a 23-acre urban wetlands park located on the north shore of the Tennessee River.  Features include hilly overlooks, nature trails with native trees, wildflowers, river ecosystems, wetlands area, outdoor pavilion, picnic area, public art, and marked areas of historical significance.



Ross's Landing: Signature park located below the Tennessee Aquarium along the south shore of the Tennessee River.  This popular recreational area features a natural amphitheatre, the river pier, Chattanooga Green, handicapped accessible playground, marina and walkways along the river.



tn-chatgreenwaystrails-riverwalkTennessee Riverwalk: Continuous 13-mile path extends from the riverfront at Ross's Landing to the Tennessee Riverpark and Chickamauga Dam.  The path is used for bicycling, in-line skating, walking, jogging and fitness pursuits. It also includes the Chattanooga Rowing Center and several canoe/kayak launches.
