UPDATE #2 (10-9-18): On Monday, October 8, 2018, U.S. Marshals arrested 23-year-old Oshea Williams in Detroit, Michigan. Williams is facing multiple charges for the July 16, 2018 Homicide of 41-year-old Cortez Alford that occurred in the 1100 block of Arlington Avenue. Williams remains in custody in Detroit until he is extradited to Hamilton County.

The Chattanooga Citizens' Police Academy is a nine-week law enforcement education program. The purpose of the academy is to create positive interaction and enhance communication between the CPD and the citizens it serves. The next Academy begins Thursday, September 13, 2018. The group will meet on nine consecutive Thursday evenings.

UPDATE (8/1/18): Chattanooga Police have identified the suspect involved in the fatal hit and run that occurred at 7:55 a.m. on July 30, 2018 in the 4500 block of Norcross Rd. Warrants are on file for the arrest of 18-year-old Israel Martin-Alonzo.

UPDATE (7/31/18): The victim has been identified and next of kin notifications are complete. There are no other details available for release at this time. This incident continues to be actively investigated by the Chattanooga Police Department's Traffic Unit. Additional details will be released as they become available.
