UPDATE: The suspect in the homicide of 30-year-old Taja Whiteside that occurred on January 11, 2019 in the 5800 block of Moody Sawyer Road is now in custody in Jacksonville, Florida. Kameron Leslie is charged with First Degree Murder.

UPDATE: After extensive investigation and diligent work by Chattanooga Police Department Special Victims Unit Investigators and Violent Crimes Unit a suspect has been arrested. On Tuesday, April 30, 2019, the Chattanooga Police Department arrested Tremaine Lamar Anderson (25). Anderson is charged with Aggravated Rape and Aggravated Kidnapping. He is now in custody at the Hamilton County Jail. Additional charges could be added as the investigation proceeds.

UPDATE: On Tuesday, April 30, 2019, Chattanooga Police Violent Crimes Investigators arrested a suspect for the Homicide that occurred in the 3200 block of Wilcox Boulevard on April 28, 2019. The suspect is charged with Criminal Homicide and is in custody at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.

The Chattanooga Police Department will be partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office to promote motorcycle safety during the month of May, which is nationally recognized as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. Agencies participate by providing information and increasing awareness in their communities about the importance of sharing the road and looking twice for motorcyclists.
