10-22-2013 Fire Department Offers Cold Weather Safety Tips
As the first cold weather of the year approaches, many people will be turning on their heaters for the first time. Since colder temperatures result in longer operating time for heating equipment, there is more opportunity for that equipment to cause a fire. Chattanooga Fire Chief Lamar Flint would like to remind everyone to follow these important fire safety tips to avoid a tragedy in your own home:

Chattanooga firefighters responded to a house fire early this morning at 1814 Tunnel Boulevard. The first call to 911 Communications was at 4:42 a.m.
10-18-2013 Update on House Fire on Elmendorf Street
Update: The cause of this afternoon's fire at 2301 Elmendorf Street has been ruled accidental.
10-18-2013 No Injuries in Afternoon House Fire
Chattanooga fire investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire around 1:00 this afternoon at 2301 Elmendorf Street. Battalion Chief Charles Patton said light smoke was showing from the rear of the house when the first firefighters arrived on the scene.
