After three days of intense live fire training at a donated house on Fagan Street, the 25 recruits in Chattanooga's Fire Academy 2014 got to watch how just fast a house can burn to the ground if they don't use the fire suppression tactics they've been taught in recent months.
07-11-14 Morning House Fire Linked to Cigarette Butts
Chattanooga firefighters responded to a house fire shortly after 6:00 this morning at 111 Wheeler Avenue. Battalion Chief Charles Patton said the fire was located on the front porch, but the flames were getting into the house through the front window.
07-11-14 Firefighters Respond to Fire/Haz-Mat Incident at JIT Chemicals
There were some tense moments this morning at a local chemical company in North Chattanooga. While workers at JIT Chemicals at 530 Manufacturers Road were off-loading a caustic soda from a barge into a storage tank, some of the product spilled out, and then a fire erupted.

Chattanooga fire investigators have been searching for a possible suspect following a fire of suspicious origin on July 5, 2014.
07-09-14 Firefighters Stop Early Morning Commercial Fire
Chattanooga firefighters were dispatched to a possible commercial fire shortly before 1:00 this morning. Six fire companies were sent to A & M Construction Company at 7161 Lee Highway on an automatic fire alarm, with Quint 8 the first to arrive on the scene.
