Quick work by Chattanooga firefighters saved several businesses on in downtown Chattanooga late Thursday night. A pedestrian walking down the street saw smoke and flames coming from the two-story commercial structure and flagged someone down to call 911.
04-24-14 Fire Destroys Vacant Commercial Building
Fire destroyed an old, vacant commercial building fire early this morning at 451 Wauhatchie Pike. A passing motorist saw huge flames coming from the former business, and called 911 Communications at 4:25 a.m.

The cause of this afternoon's fire at 3503 Hoyt Street has been ruled accidental.
04-14-14 No Injuries in Afternoon House Fire
Chattanooga firefighters responded to a house fire at 3505 Hoyt Street around 2:30 this afternoon. Larry Mangahne told firefighters that he and his grandson were the only ones home at the time.
