03-04-14 Firefighters and Red Cross Volunteers to Install Free Smoke Alarms
On Saturday, March 8, 2014, Chattanooga firefighters, along with staff and volunteers with the American Red Cross, will distribute free smoke alarms and batteries in the St. Elmo area.
02-28-14 Highland Park Kitchen Fire
At 9:30 p.m. today, the Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a reported kitchen fire at 1715 Vine Street.
02-26-14 Strong Winds Whip Up Afternoon House Fire
Chattanooga firefighters responded to a reported house at 1716 Monterey Drive fire shortly after 3:00 this afternoon. Captain Travis Williams, the incident commander, said smoke and flames were visible when the first firefighters arrived on the scene.
02-21-14 Chattanooga Starts New Fire Academy
The Chattanooga Fire Department started a new fire academy today. Most of the 27 new recruits are from this area, but others came from as far as California, Wisconsin and Florida to start their new careers at Chattanooga firefighters.
02-21-14 Man Arrested for Setting Sweatshirt on Fire at Erlanger
Chattanooga firefighters were dispatched to Erlanger Medical Center shortly after midnight this morning, on a reported fire in the emergency room. Battalion Chief Lesley Morgan said the small fire occurred in Room 28 in the ER section.
