Chattanooga firefighters on the department's fire boat were dispatched to the Tennessee River shortly before 1:00 this afternoon to assist five UTC students who got into some trouble on their paddleboards.
06-30-14 Kitchen Fire Leaves Family Homeless
Chattanooga firefighters responded to a house fire at 1800 Wilson Street shortly after 1:00 Sunday afternoon. Lt. Wadie Suttles with Engine 4 said heavy fire was showing from the single-story, wood-frame structure.
06-26-14 Mattress Fire Displaces a Dozen People
Chattanooga firefighters responded to an apartment fire at 918 Hamilton Avenue shortly after 6:00 tonight. Battalion Chief Don Bowman said a mattress was on fire in one of the five apartment units in the building.
06-19-14 Overnight Fire Intentionally Set
Chattanooga firefighters responded to a house fire early this morning at 404 Somerville Avenue. Captain Michelle Thorne with Engine 12 said the firefighters received the alarm at 12:19 a.m. and responded with four fire companies.
06-17-14 Update on Morning Fire in Hixson
Chattanooga fire investigators are still trying to figure out how a fire started this morning in a house at 5454 Hixson Pike. Lt. Andrew Waters with the Fire Investigation Division said the man who rented the house was found sitting in a pickup truck in the front driveway.
