UPDATE (1/15/19):

The driver of the vehicle who caused a traffic crash resulting in two fatalities and causing critical injuries to another on January 3, 2019 is in custody. Dwight Turner Jr. (26) was apprehended in Atlanta, GA on January 15, 2019 by U.S. Marshals working in conjunction with CPD's Fugitive Division. Sara Ashlee Meredith, a passenger in the vehicle Turner was driving, was also apprehended and taken into custody. Tuner and Meredith have full extradition warrants on file and are awaiting transport to Hamilton County Jail.

On January 2, 2019 at approximately 7:00 a.m., the Traffic Division responded to 1200 East 3rd Street on a two-vehicle crash. The following was determined through interview, investigation and observation:

UPDATE (1/4/19): The Chattanooga Police Department's Traffic Division is actively investigating this crash. The identities of the occupants in Vehicle #1 will be released pending further investigation. Families of the deceased in Vehicle #2 have been notified.

Available Details: On 01/03/19 at approximately 8:46 p.m., the Traffic / DUI Division responded to 500 E 23rd Street on a fatal collision. The following was determined through interview, investigation and observation:

On 12/30/2018 at approximately 9:20 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a local hospital on a report that a party had arrived by personal vehicle with a non life-threatening gunshot wound.
