9-18-19 Car crashes into hotel on Lee Highway
Firefighters secured the structure at an extended stay hotel after a car crashed into the front of the building.
It happened just after 3 PM at the In Town Suites on Lee Highway.
A car accident on Lee Highway caused a gold van to leave the road. It crashed into an SUV in the hotel parking lot and then into two hotel rooms, damaging the building.
9-17-19 Dorris Street fire under investigation
The Chattanooga Fire Department had multiple companies respond to a house fire on the city’s south side Tuesday around 11:15 PM.
It happened in the 4100 block of Dorris Street.
When crews arrived, heavy fire was coming through the roof and neighbors advised that there was possibly someone still inside the home.
9-17-19 Fatality in wake of E 36th Street Blaze
It is with heavy hearts that the Chattanooga Fire Department announces a tragic development in a fire we worked on E 36th Street.
One of the victims, a three-year-old child, has passed away from his injuries.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this very difficult time. This is a loss for his loved ones, the community and our department," said Chattanooga Fire Chief Phil Hyman.
9-13-19 Steps taken to protect city during water main break
A water main break causing water outages in Chattanooga has CFD has mobilizing resources.
Without the use of hydrants, tankers must be used to fight fires.
Additional crews are being brought in to assist the Chattanooga Fire Department during this water outage.
9-10-19 House fire on 6th Ave
The Chattanooga Fire Department, along with the East Ridge Fire Department, responded to a house fire in the 3000 block of 6th Ave.
Once on the scene, firefighters found a small fire in the window on the side of the home.
Crews had the fire extinguished in a matter of minutes.
A search was conducted and no one was located inside the house. It appears to be vacant.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
