CFD Firefighters Loses Battle With Cancer

Jump to:

The Chattanooga Fire Department is mourning the death of Senior Firefighter Chad Crisp, 43. Chad passed away over the weekend from a lengthy, brave battle with cancer. He worked at Station 16 and he is already greatly missed by his fellow firefighters.

Our thoughts are with his wife, Leah, his children and his extended family members during this difficult time.

One CFD captain summed up what many in the department are feeling: “Rest well, brother. The CFD family lost one of the best. Chad Crisp #Q16”

Chad became a proud second-generation member of the Chattanooga Fire Department in 2000. He loved his work, and was well known for his fire hall antics that brought comic relief to a difficult job.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hamilton Funeral Home (4506 Hixson Pike).

Attendees are requested to wear a mask.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Chad’s honor to the Chattanooga Fire Fighters Support Foundation. Checks can be mailed or dropped off at 6216 Perimeter Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421. Venmo donations can be sent to @CFFSF. The Chattanooga Fire Fighters Support Foundation is a local non-profit dedicated to providing care for Chattanooga’s firefighters and their families.
