Driver Not Injured In I-75 N Tractor Trailer Fire

A semi truck driver’s cab was completely destroyed when it caught fire on I-75 N near the East Brainerd Road exit.

It caused trees on the side of the road to catch on fire.

CFD worked to get the tractor trailer fire extinguished and the brush fire put out using two quints, a squad and a tanker.

The driver was not injured.

The northbound lanes were totally shut down for 20 minutes, impacting traffic.

It’s not clear yet what caused the cab of the tractor trailer to catch on fire.
