Family Escapes Burning Home

Flames tore through a family's house in Chattanooga, but the relatives were able to get out of the burning structure safely. 

It happened late Friday night in the 7000 block of Hamilton View Street.

Initial companies on the scene reported heavy fire. They pulled a hose line and started attacking the fire.

They learned that everyone was out of the burning home, including two adults and five children.

Other responding companies pulled an additional hose line to fully extinguish the fire.

They got the fire under control in 20 minutes.

Seven companies were on the scene.

The house was heavily damaged in the fire but thankfully, there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Chattanooga Hamilton County Rescue Service was on the scene, as well as Hamilton County EMS, Red Cross and the Chattanooga Police Department.
