Fire Damages Same House In Less Than Two Weeks

Jump to:

Captain Glover said that as his fire truck pulled up to the house, he saw a man on the front porch. When the man walked inside the house, Captain Glover ran up to the house, yelling for him to get out. The man came out immediately, and while the firefighters worked to get the blaze under control, the man apparently left the scene.

Battalion Chief Charles Patton said the firefighters found most of the fire in the attic and got the fire out fairly quickly. The firefighters had to contend with a bees' nest while extinguishing the fire in the attic. Even with the extra hazard, no injuries were reported. This is the second time Chattanooga firefighters have been to this house in less than two weeks. The first fire was on October 17, 2013 (see original news release below). Like the first fire, the cause of this fire is under investigation. Chattanooga police and Hamilton County EMS also provided assistance on the scene.
