Firefighters Pull Woman From House Fire

Jump to:

Three people were thought to be still inside. The two police officers who arrived first were driven out of the house due to the heavy smoke. When the firefighters with Squad 20 went in, Captain Zink said they found an occupant in bed in the last room to the left on the front of the house. Captain Zink said the woman was wrapped in bedding and carried to the front door, where she was handed off to the police officers and Hamilton County EMS.

Squad 20 went back inside to search the rest of the house, but found no one. The other two occupants got out on their own.

While Squad 20 was searching the house, additional firefighters arrived to work on extinguishing the fire. Captain Michael Thomas, the incident commander, said the firefighters had to pull the ceiling to gain access to the fire in the attic. Once they did though, the fire was brought under control.

An estimate on the dollar loss was not available. Captain Thomas said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
