Firefighters Respond To Fire In East Lake

At 6:50 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a house fire at 1911 34th Street in East Lake. Battalion Chief Chris Willmore said everyone was out of the house when the first firefighters arrived on the scene.

Chief Willmore said it took the firefighters roughly 30 minutes to get the blaze under control. No injuries were reported. The dollar loss was estimated at $50,000.

Volunteers with the American Red Cross of Southeast Tennessee were called in to provide assistance to the three adults displaced by the fire. Chattanooga police provided assistance on the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
