Kelly Subaru Donates Pet Oxygen Masks To CFD

Thanks to a generous donation from Kelly Subaru, the Chattanooga Fire Department is expanding its supply of pet oxygen masks.

Our pets are like family members so it's important for our crews to have this life-saving equipment on the scene of fires.

Every fire truck will be equipped with several masks.

This initiative is in conjunction with Subaru's National Campaign, "Subaru Loves Pets" for the month of October.

These specially-designed animal masks can be used both on conscious pets that have suffered from smoke inhalation and pets that need to be resuscitated after losing consciousness from exposure to the dangerous toxic fumes.

Fire Chief Phil Hyman expressed the department's gratitude and added: "It’s important for us to be able to do everything we can to make sure our pets are safe. We think it’s important to treat them like family members."
